First Saturday, January 6: "Swap and Share"

Our first gathering of the new year will be something different and a revival of an activity we used to do annually. This is not a sketch outing, per se.  We'll gather in a library meeting room to share tips, tricks and art supplies.

Only if you'd like to do so, please share for about 5 minutes about a tip, trick or bit of kit that has been useful to you as an Urban Sketcher.

Also bring any art supplies, books, etc you'd like to trade or give to fellow sketchers.  Is there something you have that you don't like or just aren't using?  Perhaps someone else will like it more than you.  

Gather at 10 am near entrance to library, which opens at 10.  We'll find our room and get settled.  We have it to 1pm but will need to spend the last few minutes cleaning up.  

The room reservation page says "masks required" so come prepared.  However, the link to the library's COVID protocol page is dead, so I don't know whether this is still true.  Given increasing respiratory infections, it's not a bad idea to protect our more vulnerable members by wearing a mask.

Third Wednesday, January 17: Tacoma Art Museum (TAM)

Unless you want to do so, you don't have to pay to go through the Museum.  There are subjects to sketch in lobby and free areas

. If you're willing to share, please bring your guest passes.  Also, libraries have passes to give. 

Meet in the lobby at 10 am. Only pencil is allowed for drawing in the museum galleries. 

Parking info is here.  There is free parking in the six-story Link garage located next to the Tacoma Dome Station. Then take the light rail which stops within walking distance of Tacoma Art Museum at Union Station.
