Saturday, August 3: UFO trail in Des Moines
This is about the Maury Island Incident in 1942. It will be different than the usual outing in that there are multiple locations. You may choose to sketch one or all. We will meet at the Maury Island Incident Mural, located at the 605 S 223rd St, Des Moines, WA 98198. A handout will be available which gives the location of points of interest to this event. Don't be late!
We will meet for throw down at 12:30 at the Quarterdeck Cafe in Des Moines Marina 22307 Dock Ave S #1, Des Moines, WA 98198

Wednesday, Aug 21: Dune Peninsula Park at Point Defiance
5361 Yacht Club Rd, Tacoma, WA 98405
There are sweeping views on the 11-acre park and the Sound. "Tacoma is the only place on Planet Earth to be “Dune’s” plot inspiration" The park is named for the monumental 1965 sci-fi novel it’s based on; a place which inspired the “Dune” world, where its creator Frank Herbert was born and which also happens to have a real-life “Dune” story behind it.
Meet at 10 am at the structure at end of parking lot. There are rest rooms, shade and shelter. Throw down at 12:30 in the same location.
